HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis is another great way to reprogram your subconscious. A lot of people get very intimidated by the idea of hypnosis and hypnotherapy and I think it goes back to the stage hypnosis. Many of us have seen a guest in the audience go up to the stage to be hypnotized into doing whatever is told to them as if they are under control and cannot think for themselves. On that note I would like to add the way stage hypnosis usually works. There are about 10% to 15% of the population that are very easily hypnotized and will fall into a trance very quickly and deeply. So when stage hypnosis begins usually the hypnotist will do some type of test that he knows will bring out that 15%. So now the hypnotist will have the perfect candidate for the perfect show.
And so how does it reprogram your subconscious mind? Hypnosis uses different techniques to bypass the Critical Factor which acts like a guard at the gateway and decides what programs it will let in to the subconscious mind. Just a heads up, it will not let anything by that is not in sequence to the programs that are already there. But if a new program was to sneak its way into the subconscious then that new program would now be running the show. Hypnosis has all sorts of ways to distract or even put the critical mind to sleep so that this could happen. That being said, I'd also like to add the brain states associated with hypnotherapy. A light trance would be the Alpha brain state and a lot of work can be done at this state. A medium trance is in the theta brain state and is more relaxed and a person would be more suggestible. And a deep trance, delta brainwave state is a somnambulistic trance. Selective and illusory sensory perception and the acceptance of complex suggestions occur during a deep hypnotic trance. In a light and medium trance a person can remember what is said during the hypnotic state but in a deep hypnotic state , the subconscious mind hears and can make changes, but the conscious mind may not remember what was said.
Hypnotherapy can be used to treat anxiety, phobias, substance abuse including tobacco, sexual dysfunction, undesirable spontaneous behaviors, and bad habits. It can be used to help improve sleep, learning disorders, communication, and relationship issues. It can also be used for pain management.

And so that is just a quick rundown to give you a little taste on what hypnosis is and how it works. It can definitely be used to make that conscious - subconscious connection and once that connection is established you can reprogram your subconscious mind.
